What inspired you to found boxEDu?
The first thing was definitely my passion for education, but also the entrepreneurial side where I wanted to come with an idea to solve something. I love a lot of different components of entrepreneurship: the engineering and innovation side of it, the science and research side of it, and even the fine arts and creativity side of it as well. I was looking for something to bring in all those aspects, and that brought me to entrepreneurship.
What does your future look like? What do you plan to do?
I am very passionate about the intersection of product, education, and tech and I want to have a career in which I’m constantly surrounded by changed tech, changing ideas, or changing systems. I know it’s not a specific career path, but that’s the environment I want to be in.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received that has helped you be successful?
Take every piece of advice with a grain of salt. Often times you tend to need to validate yourself, and some people don’t agree with you and you have to learn to accept that. People may not always see eye-to-eye with you on certain things and that doesn’t mean you or your ideas are any less, it just means the people come from backgrounds and have different perspectives that are different from yours.
How has your life and daily routines changed as a result of COVID-19
So definitely COVID has reduced response time. In my company, we need to be able to create relationship with printing companies and students, but response times and deliverable times are both very slow. Productivity has definitely decreased, especially since we rely on other companies, and their productivity has also decreased so it comes back on us.
If you could know the absolute truth to any question, what would you ask?
I’m a very spiritual person, so I would ask what would be the path to enlightenment and how can I achieve ultimate happiness?
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
i live my life on the edge, so the jaws theme song would be my theme song
What advice do you have for fellow or younger students?
You don’t need to define yourself, as a person you’re always changing. You should never stop changing or stop learning. However, you should always define your morals, values, passions, strengths, and weakness. By understanding yourself, you’ll have a better understanding of what you want to do and how to do what makes you happy. It’s not too late to change your mind and achieve what you want to do. It’s never too late for anything.
