Kaissy Yau, an award winning flutist, is a senior at the University of Arizona (Honors College), currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree and Certificate in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Development. She was born and raised in Hong Kong, and received the International Excellence Tuition scholarship to study in the United States.
Yau founded the Vulpes Wind Quintet, the premiere undergraduate quintet at UA, and is the Fred Fox School of Music’s 2020 Presser Scholar. She has also been elected to be the President for the College of Fine Arts Ambassador, where she directs ambassador meetings, provides tours, and speaks at information sessions to recruit potential students.
When Yau isn’t spending long and countless hours practicing her flute, she enjoys spinning at (r)evolve cycling, where she is able to release the stress of practicing her instrument or school.
Despite the many concerto performances and festival cancellations as a result of the pandemic, the bright young artist is staying positive and has high hopes for new opportunities in the near future.
