Who is your role model and/or inspiration?
My mother. She immigrated from Colombia at a young age not knowing one ounce of English, learned the language on her own, got her cosmetology license, and has opened many businesses since then. She is the textbook definition of starting from nothing and becoming something.
What is the best piece of advice that you have  received that has helped you be successful?
“Be the CEO your parents want you to marry”
What motivates you?
The opportunity to inspire younger girls who think they are not capable of achieving their goals. I want to be their mentor/someone they can look up to and be empowered by.
What advice do you have for fellow or younger students?
My biggest advice is to believe it until it comes true. You are your own worst enemy, and as long as you believe in yourself, I am certain that the pieces will fall into place.
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
BO$$ by Fifth Harmony
In your opinion, who do you think is the most impressive person in the world right now and why?
Malala Yousafzai because of all the impressive things she’s accomplished with female education and equality in the world. Her life story and her organization, the Malala Fund, are incredibly inspiring, and she works towards everything I wish I could accomplish in life.
What does your future look like? What do you plan to do?
My biggest goal is to work on something that bridges the gap between technology and social change while empowering females to achieve more and believe in themselves. I want to continue working towards that goal in whatever industry or job I end up in.
What inspires you?
It’s extremely common to struggle with imposter syndrome, especially as a female in a STEM major. After watching my mom and her family work so hard to be where they are right now, I have been genuinely inspired to break those barriers and be the best version of myself despite the hurdles of being a minority as both a Latina and a female.
If you could know the absolute truth to one question, what would you ask?
What is my role in bettering the world around me?
