What inspired you to create a minecraft version of Brown’s campus?
We wanted to find a way to bring everyone together during a time of uncertainty. It’s hard to stay connected during COVID and it’s hard to do many things virtually, so we wanted to provide a common activity to bring people together in a virtual space even though they are thousands of miles apart.
Who is your role model and/or inspiration?
I don’t really have one I can go to right away, but for the most part, my parents. People reassuring me is good for me so I turn to my parents for feedback to better myself
What does your future look like? What do you plan to do?
As far as the project goes, it’s a little uncertain. We are currently working to collaborate with other students and organizations to allow them to have opportunities to mingle on an “campus like” platform. As for me, personally, I am looking into going to Med school.
What motivates you?
Seeing people enjoy what I’ve made, whether it be playing the violin in the orchestra or making a film with Brown Motion Pictures, or working on a project with another organization on campus. I like working with people and organizations from all different backgrounds and being able to see others appreciate what I’ve been a part of or helped create.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to work on little CS projects or hangout with friends. One of my projects is running an intercollegiate minecraft server project for college students from different universities to meet and interact with each other.
What is your favorite movie at the moment?
I am a huge fan of short films
If you could go back in time, is there, if at all, anything you’d do differently?
No, not at all! Everything happens for a reason
If you could know the absolute truth to one question, what would you ask?
What’s the purpose of life? I ask this because I believe everyone has a different purpose and it gives you a sense of the different avenues and possibilities.
In your opinion, who do you think is the most impressive person in the world right now, and why?
Elon Musk, because when you look at his life story, he has been successful his whole life. He’s is willing to risk everything in all of his ventures and he’s lucky that his hard work has paid off and 99% of his projects have been successful
What advice do you have for fellow or younger students?
Do what you love! There's only so much time in a lifetime, and there's no sense wasting a fourth of it believing you're too young. There's never a moment when you become "old enough" to do something, and by doing things when you are young, you'll gain valuable experience that you can draw on later in life.
