Undergraduate - Math/Economy
Raised in the San Francisco Bay area, Patrick Yeung personally experienced the pressures resulting from extremely competitive academic environments. In response to the Silicon Valley Suicides, Yeung felt determined to make a difference in his school and community. This led to Yeung becoming president of Monta Vista’s Challenge Success Program, where Yeung facilitated student focus groups to challenge the stigmas regarding the definitions of success. Yeung furthered his contribution by being involved with changing school district policies – including school start times. Now, as a student at the University of Chicago, Yeung continues making a direct impact on high school students feeling similar pressures that he felt through teaching a college test-prep class on weekends and working with college admissions, giving university tours in 3 different languages (although he is fluent in four). In addition to being heavily involved with various organizations on campus, including volunteering for a pro-bono student consulting group and serving as an emergency medical responder, Yeung has worked as a project lead for multiple engagements with ProMazo Consulting – gaining exposure to multiple Fortune 500 companies!
