What inspired you to start TOGETHER for the Long Run:
My cousin, who lost both legs due to an accident at a young age. Despite having the correct equipment and ability, she was told that she couldn’t join her high school’s track or cross country team. I realized that this was likely an issue for many individuals and wanted to figure out a way to help give everyone an opportunity that they deserve – hence, TOGETHER for the Long Run.
You were chosen to be on ProMazo’s list of Most Interesting Students for a reason. Do you have any advice for other students hoping to create their own success:
Finding your own success involves being your true self and seeking out new opportunities. From there, you can create your own definition of success based on what is important to you – to me, success involves bringing joy to others.
“Love what you do and do what you love.” - Ray Bradbury
Biggest role models or inspirations:
My biggest role models are my parents. They showed me how to work hard and how to make a positive impact on others. I have also been inspired by Iris Hammel, a woman from my hometown in South Bend, Indiana. She taught me so many valuable lessons, including how to create meaningful relationships and different ways to get involved within my community.
I am one of six children.
I love water skiing!
I’m not sure where life will take me! Potentially leadership development or fundraising with a non-profit.
